Key Bank has an account where they will re-emburse you for any ATM fees you incur. Key charges no fees regardless of where you get your money, and they re-emburse me the fees that other banks charge me. It's a wonderful setup. :)

I opened an account with Key when I first moved to CO. I closed it a couple months later. I was VERY unhappy.

They can not take credit cards if they want, it'll save them the 2-3% transaction fee. But I won't be doing business with them. I don't even carry cash or an ATM card.

Look I will let you know about CiCi's. I helped open the store here and worked there forever. The food sucks, but the price is cheap. I know tons of people that say the food sucks but go there all the time.

I don't know why they never took CC. When I worked there, it cost $.29 to make one pepporoni pizza. It cost $3.99 for buffet and .99 for a drink. There were only two people the whole time that ate there mone's worth and they where like 350+ and stayed for hours.

Not to mention their pay is crap.

So there is no reason why they can't afford to take CC transactions.

In parting let me leave you with some advice:
DO NOT eat at CiCi's before noon.
AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES eat the bar-b-q pizza.

Enjoy!!!!

No it's not. Even if him and his kids at $50.00 worth of pizza, the CC processing fee is probably around $1.20 or so. Assuming he has 2.2 kids, and he took wife, and accounting for $1.50/person drink, he would only be spending $27 with a $5/person buffet. Somewhere around .65 cents, far less than what he was charged.

:D

Some companies have a min fee the vendor pays no matter what the sale was. At a certain point they go with a % of sale.

It really is a big scam. I found it funny he got pissed the ATM charged him the transaction fee and wonders why the restuarant doesnt want to be charged the same fee.

If I ever came across 100 million bucks, I can gurantee you the thing I would do to maximize my investment is setup a bank and offer out ATM and Credit Cards and watch as the returns come pouring in from foolish consumers willing to pay 10% or more to grab money from their own bank accounts or pay 20+% interest fee's on credit card debt along with any late fee's.

Again. Voting with my wallet. As I said, I'd gladly pay their CC fee rather than $4 to use an ATM.

lmao you paid 10% to withdraw your own money from the bank. These banks have a one of the best business's around. Charge people to take out their own money lmao.

Get rid of the ATM cards, they are nothing but a scam. Go get a checkbook if you want to get money out of your account and use cash elsewhere.

Yeah, I rarely use the ATM function. I normally just use it as a CC. If I'd had my checkbook with me I would have written a check to save the $4. Sigh.

BTW: I wonder how much it costs them every year to collect on bounced checks? Seems to me it would be cheaper to take cards. ;)

You dont understand... they charge like $5 for all you can eat pizza... I once at 25 slices.... no margin for CC fees to stay afloat

Local pizza huts used to charge $5 for the buffet and they took credit cards. I haven't been in a while, maybe they still do.

CC POS systems can be expensive. The charges are stupid high. Run a business of your own before you start ranting at mom and pop shops.

Why?

The BBQ conatiner (In every store I have ever been to) sits on a rack underneath where the pizzas hang, next to the apple pie filling contianer. BBQ is not made very often. Only 1 every 30 pizza. It take most of a day or more to go through a container. It is not uncommon for the filling to stay out all day and all night with no refirgeration and most of the time no cover. It's sick. Plus all they do at night is put a cover over the ingredients. Some of the items recieve refrigeration and most sit out all night. So I always wait until those ingredients move through and the fresh stuff is out (After the lunch rush).

If you want we can also talk about what people have been fired for!

They make more than enough off the people who carry a balance every month. I hate it when people don't accept CC's but I know why they don't.

Uhh, Visa and Mastercard dont make money off people carrying a balance, the banks do.

Visa and Mastercard make money off vendors by charging that fee. And also selling the management of the transactions to the bank.

What exactly is so great about this bank that you are willing to overlook $2.50 withdrawl fees? Because it must be something incredible that the rest of us should know about.

Dunkin Donuts, Wendies and McDonalds all accept credit cards now. Just last month the local move theatre broke down and started accepting them. I now officially only need cash for vending machines and a handful of sh|tty places I didn't want to go to anyway.

All of this talk of CC transaction fees is crazy. Restaurants that don't take CCs are obviously mob run and it's a front for organized crime.

Union Bank of California

I've had just an outstanding experience with them over the past 10 years or so. And since I rarely use ATM machines, that fee is really not much of an issue. I have a great rep with them *cough*wife never got on that account*cough* and they take good care of me.

When I was in Europe, I tried using my Visa card in a bunch of places and had them tell me, "You have to buy at least 15 Euros worth of merchandise to use credit." I didn't have a problem with that... When they don't accept them at all and force you to use an ATM, it better be from my bank or I won't use it. :p

What sort of experience? Obviously not good or competitive rates. I keep picturing a crap eating grin on a used car salesperson as he sells you an enormous piece of junk for 5 grand. I'm sure there are a lot of banks that will treat you like a saint while they rip you off. I have a bank that charges me for virtually nothing and is nice. Go figure.

The only time I get charged is if I use another bank's ATM or if I get overdrawn (but they've always paid it for me, though it's been a few years since I've done that). Never had another charge. Ever. In 10 years.

Their customer service is awesome and I like their online banking.

I like them so much I've kept them even though I'm in a state they don't do business in. They're cool with that though, surprisingly.

I don't get charged for any ATM or for overdrawing. The only thing I pay my bank for is a safe deposit box and checks (buying the checks, not writing them). That's the way it should be, too. There are way too many banks out there to be charged for almost any bank service.

easy there. Chains don't always mean corporate owned. Could be a franchise owned by a mom and pop.

Of course they are going to charge you to use another Bank's ATM. Banks are for convenience. You don't want to keep your life savings under your pillow at home, you want them to be accesible in more than 1 place, safe and secure, hence the need for banks and them charging whatever they want.
