Here in the central timezone most places aren't open and answering yet.

My grandmother's been in the hospital for 2 months, and apparently fell at 5AM and is in bad pain again. My parents are at the hospital, and Mom is still planning on coming home and cooking dinner, but I think it would be better if we just went out and that way no stress of cooking and we can all spend more time with Grandma.

Anyone here know what the plans are for some of the major chains today?

In MD, restaurants are open, but you should have a reservation. The better places get booked full. I'm not sure what the chains are doing.

Everyone normally open on a Sunday should be open today. Its not a federal holiday or anything. Laziness . . .

fuck off. I know for a fact at least one of the grocery chains here is closed today, as are several other stores.

and if you knew how to read beyond a 3rd grade level, you'd see I was trying to find out before any of the restaurants were open and answering the phone.

Was that really necessary?

So? Stores can be closed if they want to. Lots of stores are closed or have limited hours today.

was it necessary for him to be illiterate and assume I'm lazy because I asked a question? Laziness is not reading the post.

That's great. So restaurants that are run by the federal government will be open. I don't think that helps the OP very much.

Just got back from Lowes. They're open but close at 6pm. Besides them, everything else was closed - BJs Warehouse, Costco, Marshalls, Kohls, Pier One Imports, Sports Authority, etc...

You should contact their headquarters and call them lazy.
