Restaurants in Washington, DC?

Im going down to DC and was looking for a good restaurant near the old convention center. Im really open to any type, maybe looking for French in particular. I dont really know the area, so the closer the better. Im looking for a moderately expensive place, 40-80 range per person.

of course. i wouldn't recommend it if i hadn't. i'm from montgomery county (outside of dc), so i know some of the good places....

also, check out mrs. k's toll house.... it's not in dc, but it's kinda close. it's in silver spring.

there's also kinkeads, smith and wolensky, sam and harrys, the seafood restaurnt next to sam and harry's. there's also melting pot.
