My meal came out to $8.65 and I gave a 15% tip, so $9.94 total. I take a look at my online account, and they charged me $9.95. Does a letter to corporate sound about right?

Call the cops immediately!

On a serious note, overcharging a customer should never happen, whether $0.01 or $10.

Well, I would say since Texas Roadhouse is sueing a local government for a few of their police being shot in the restaraunt, and claim they lost money over it, I would sue the shitaka out of these people.

But thats just me.....

Yah, 1 cent isn't a big deal, but where do you draw the line about them overcharging? 1 c, 50c, $1, 10$?

They didn't rip you off mang!

$8.65 * 1.15 = $9.9475 = $9.95 (rounded up)

They didn't calculate the tax, I did. I rounded down the to the nearest cent. Our party only had 5 members, so they didn't auto-add any gratuity. So I gave her like 14.99%

Get a lawyer to start asking around and see about a possible class action suit.

If you received a separate bill, they would have most likely line itemized the sales tax on its own line, i.e., subtotal, tax, tip. I assume this is the case since in your original post, you stated that the charge was shown on your account.

I don't think a 15% tip for a hot waitress is enough. I tip more than that when I go to quizno's and get a sandwich with bulk beef on it.
