Great deal. Be sure to show the restaurant staff your coupon prior to ordering though. In the past there have been reports that some of these restaurants no longer accept these coupons even though Restaurant.com still listed them on the site.

Has anyone ever purchased a $50 certificate for $5 (90% off) and then been able to get the restaurant to actually accept it? Do you guys have to fight with restaurant managers over the coupons? I can only imagine how happy they'll be when you offer to pay them with the $50 coupon that they only received $5 for.

My folks have used it before and it seems to work out, but I still wonder about this issue.

I've bought these coupons when they were 80% off and not had any problems using them. Most restaurants only authorize a limited number each month, when they are gone they are gone, so it seems they factor in the limited use of these as a way to get new/repeat customers in. A couple of times a restaurant has gone out of business before I got to use the certificate, but that is the nature of the food business.

The higher amount certificates require the purchase of expensive amounts of food, i.e. a $50 certificate might require the purchase of $100+ of food. Always check the sample menus if you are not familiar with a restaurant to make sure the amount you purchase makes sense. Of course, you could invite half a dozen friends or your family to a casual place and cover half the tab, which what I like to do with these sale certificates.

As ricochet mentions, show the certificate to the waiter before ordering to be sure they will accept it. Restaurant.com will offer credit on another certificate if the restaurant drops out of the program in the year you have available to use the certificate.
