Restaurant.com 70% off Halloween Promotion -- $25 Gift Certificates for only $3

Normally you can buy a $25 certificate for $10 at restaurant.com and use it at participating restaurants. Now through October 31, 2007 you can get a 70% discount (off the $10) when you enter TREATS at the checkout. That means you get the $25 gift certificate for $3.

Note that using the gift certificate often entails a minimum purchase. A common minimum purchase is $35. So, with your gift certificate, if you had a $35 bill at the restaurant, your net out-of-pocket cost would be $13 (i.e. $35 - $25 + $3).

Also, only can't use more than one certificate at a time. Meaning you can't get a $50 meal, use 2 $3 certificates and be done.

Note that you can also apply the "TREATS" code toward the purchase of a "mega" certificate which is valid at *any time* at restaurant.com.

Here's how you do it on the restaurant.com web site:
1. Click "give a gift"
2. Enter quantity in quantity field
3. Use drop down box to select "$25/$10"
4. Click "view cart"
5. Enter "TREATS" into promotional code box
6. Click "recalculate total"
7. Pay
8. Use this restaurant.com GC at any time of the month for any $25 GC you want.

I guess the second one I got a year ago is expired, but the first one worked beautifully - a very generous Greek dinner for two at a nice local place for net total $20, using a $10->$4 (they were 60% off at the time) coupon for 25off35. College students who never get to order appetizers/desserts, gather round. Limited times though - sunday through thursday after 5pm.

But yeah, the restaurant I'm talking about pulled out of the full-on 25off35, and now has a 10off20 coupon for $3->$0.90... not quite as nice - $15 for a $20 menuprice meal instead of $20 for a $35 menuprice meal.
