Restarts in XP?!?!

I recently installed Windows XP build 2526 RC2 on my system (I wanted to try it before I went out and bought the real thing) I am extremely happy with it so far except for the restarting issue. Whenever I try to transfer large files from my cd drive (backup cds) it restarts without prompting an error message. I have the via kt133a chipset so I downloaded the 4 in 1 drivers ran the setup and only 1 file installed. In win2k 4 files installed (hence 4in1) could that be the problem? Does via have any drivers to fix this? This never occured under win2k.
