restarting in win2k...

wsup.. ive got a dual boot goin... winME on my C drive and win2k on my E drive... whenever im in win2k and i restart, the computer doesnt restart... my monitor changes to an all black screen w/ a little blinking cursor in the top left.. thats it.. ill wait and wait and wait.. no restarting, just shut down... but this doesnt happen everytime... it actually does restart sometimes, but rarely.. this problem does not exist at all when i restart from winME.. anybody know how to fix this??

Hi In windows 2000 browse Administrator Tools go to Computer Management, Open System Information -- Componenets -- Problem Device, see if any device there??

Make sure that you have the latest Windows updates and that your mobo is actually supported by Win2k.

What sevice packs are you running? If memory serves there were several shutdown issues addressed in SP2.

Check the ACPI settings, and either disable them or enable them. (Somewhere in control panel--I forget where).
