Restart Problems

I currently have a Asus A7M266 MB with a 1.4G Athlon installed. I have this weird problem where the computer will not restart properly if you tell it to just restart out of windows XP(or any OS for that matter). It will however do a shutdown fine, but if I wanted to do just a restart the screen goes black then I have to manually push the reset button. I thought this might be a BIOS issue so I flashed it upto the latest BIOS but this did not help. Has anyone seen this issue before??

Yeah, generally it is a mobo or RAM problem.
Has it always done this? Did it just start after you stuck a new stick of RAM in?
BIOS was a good place to start.

I have experienced the same problem. I've tried a different power supply, adjusting power management settings, and different memory. I get the same result. Next I'm going to try manually setting the processor settings rather than having it in jumper free mode. Stay tuned.

I just solved this problem on my A7M266 board by exchanging the Netgear FA311 Rev-B1 NIC with a 3Com card. Now it restarts after a warm reboot.
