Restart Problem

Hi All,

My first post and was hoping to get some help with a problem I'm having.

PSU: Kingwin LZP-650
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H
RAM: Patriot Viper 16GB
SSD: Corsair Force 3 240GB
GPU: Nvidia Quadro K2000
OS: Win 7 Pro

Brand new build with all new components. I built 2 identical computers and both do the same thing.

Problem: If I "Restart" from Start menu, when computer reboots it says "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key". I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and get into BIOS. SSD does not show up in ATA Port Information.

If I "Shut Down" from Start menu, computer shuts down as expected. Pressing the Power button to turn it on will boot to Windows perfectly.

If I "Restart" from Start menu and get to the "Reboot..." message, turning the computer off and on with the physical power button boots to Windows perfectly. Otherwise, the computer works perfectly.

Best I can figure is that, on a restart, the power supply shuts off the rails that power the SSD (all fans are connected to Mobo) and won't turn them back on until a hard power off.

Anyone heard of this, know what's up, and/or know a solution? I suppose I could live with having to press the power button at every restart but I'd really prefer Restart to happen without intervention.

Thank you,
AP

I'm not familiar with recent hardware. but perhaps you may want to start by checking your BIOS or UEFI version against the most recent update from manufactures website. Same with the SSD Firmware version you maybe using.
