Response times in LCD TVs

Would one notice much of a difference between a 4ms response time and an 8ms response time? My guess is that the difference is probably unnoticeable, though I could be wrong. My reason for asking is that I am going to buy an LCD TV and have noticed that LG LCDs tend to offer lower response times than say, a Samsung, and I don't know whether I give a whole lot of weight to this spec. Of course, some will tell me to just go look at the differences in the showroom, and I will do this, but I was just wondering if from your guys' experience, you've noticed any significant alterations in quality in certain situations due to response times.

I will probably buy one of the two TVs below:

The LG (with 4ms response time)

Any reason why I should choose one of these over the other? Of course, the LG has 1080p capability, but I doubt that I will ever get 1080p broadcasting or a Blu-Ray player anytime soon. I am leaning towards the Samsung because I trust the Samsung brand and have never purchased anything LG: I just have a perception of their products as being cheap. If you can dispel that notion, please do. But anyhow, any feedback on the original question or which of these TVs you would buy if in my shoes, would be appreciated.

I doubt a difference could be seen between a 4ms and an 8ms panel (especially in a showroom), they aren't really hard specs anyway.
Nothing wrong with LG, I generally wouldn't put them above or below Samsung as far as quality is concerned.

The response time difference should not be noticable at all, especially if you're not sending an HD signal to it...and I have owned my LG plasma for almost 4 years now and worked flawlessly, in my mind I would actually rate it above a Samsung as far as televisions go in general, from my experience they have always been more of a "bargain" brand with hit or miss quality.

LG is as good as Samsung, I would buy LG, if to choose from these 2. But I wouldn't never ever buy something like TV from Best Buy...Newegg has sales ~2 times a week, incl. good deals on TV's.
I've bought my 42" LG LCD for $650(Free Shipping) on Newegg, while same TV in any other place was ~ $150-$200 more...
