Resolving Hardware IRQ Conflicts

helppls

Senior member
OK. My sound doesn't work, and my video card locks up, right? After following the instructions given by Basie (thx) I found it was a hardware conflict. Here are all of the things on my PC that have the IRQ of 9.

Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
3D Prophet II MX -->AGP VIDEO CARD
VIA USB Universal Host Controller
VIA USB Universal Host Controller -->listed twice sys nfo conflicts/sharing for some reason
Realtek RTL8137(A/B/C/8130)... -->NETWORK CARD
Vortex Multifunction PCI Pareent -->SOUND
Aureal Vortex 8830 Audio (WDM) -->SOUND
DSI D-S-F-V V.90 DI3635 WIN2k -->MODEM
Win2000 Promise Ultra 100 (tm) IDE...

My mother board is an A7V
and
My questions are:

1.Which, if any, IRQ's should I change?
2.How do I do this?

Thank you

holy crap, what the hell are you doing? Plugging everything into the same PCI slot? Use Device Manager to troubleshoot IRQ conflicts. I'm assuming you got that list by going to DevMan and double clicking "my computer". It tells you everything running on an IRQ. That sure sounds like a lot, though. You can manuall configure the IRQs by going into BIOS, and even by actually switching slots on your mobo. And do yourself a favor and get rid of the realtek crap. If i remember correctly, it's like a "win-NIC" ala win modem.
