"resolving dependencies" then wants to delte office?!?

i'm trying to uninstall packages that i don't think i'll ever use from my Fedora 13 install.....things like arabic language support and speech-to-text....... when i ask it to uninstall those pakages, it also tells me that OpenOffice has to be deleted as well........why? i am new to linux so i can't comprehend how those are related. help?

Probably OpenOffice lists some of those packages as dependencies, the package manager is designed to not leave the user with a broken system (ie programs installed without the necessary dependencies). It might work without those dependencies, you'll need to research how to make your package manager ignore this, but IMHO you are better off just leaving it and looking for other stuff to remove that isn't depended upon by anything you want to keep.

You might also be able to locate a leaner OpenOffice package and remove the default one.
