I could be taking this out of context but I don't believe this is an example of bigotry on drazeejs part, I think it's meant to be facetious i.e. he's saying that just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean it should be destroyed/stopped/banned etc.

Just because the analogy he used happened to be about homosexuals shouldn't be a cause to jump all over him.

Like I say I could be reading out of context just from that small quote but that's the way it seems to me...
