[RESOLVED] Windows Media Files Bug :: x64 Pro

I noticed after I reformatted my computer a month or so ago that whenever I played a windows media file it displayed it incorrectly, almost as if it wasn't displaying one of the RGB colors or something. What is more confusing, is that if I open the file up in another program like DivX player or something it still displays wrong. If I open a .mov (quicktime) file or something it plays perfectly, along with video games etc.

I'm really confused as to what else I could do to solve this problem. Is it possible it is my video card even though other file types display fine??

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tyler

Sounds like the 'color bug'. Its caused by borked gamma correction/overlay settings in the Nvidia control panel. Prior to ForceWare 77.76, there was a reg hack to fix it. It was officiallly fixed in the 77.76 driver set though.

For some odd reason I'm currently using 77.72 (even though I thought I had downloaded all of the 'new' drivers). I'm gonna install right now and see if it corrects it.

Ok, you were right.

The bug was fixed with the installation of 77.77 drivers. The reason I had not previously downloaded them was because they just cacme out 6 days ago and hadn't noticed. Apparently it must have been a x64 problem for a while.

Either way I'm fixed now, thanks for your help!.
