RESOLVED: Soltek mobo won't take new stick of Mushkin memory

I am currently using a Soltek K8AN2E-GR motherboard and have had no problems to date. I have a 512mb stick of Kingston ValueRam that I've been using for a while without trouble. Today I tried to add a 512mb stick of Mushkin memory. When I turned the computer on, the internal speaker made a continuous loud beep, which I assume means that it isn't taking the memory. I tried every possible configuration- Muskin stick by itself in either slot, Kingston and Muskin together, yet I could only get the Kingston to work by itself, and only in the lower RAM slot.

Is this a problem with my mobo? Should I RMA the Muskin RAM? Any troubleshooting suggestions?

What is the rated speed on the Mushkin?

is it PC3200 or something else? Do you have another system to try it in?

I have got a DOA stick from Mushkin before. It was the last time I ever bought RAM from them. I thought they hand tested yeah ok....

Great...I emailed Soltek tech support about the issue and within seconds got "Delivery failed" in my inbox. I'm going to try contacting Newegg about this.

This just keeps getting weirder. I moved a jumper on the mobo to clear CMOS and now the Kingston RAM works in both slots, no luck on the Mushkin yet though.

From what I have seen. People in your situation come across problems mixing rame. The board just doesnt seem to be able to handle it! I have even seen issues of RAM being incompatible if its the same typ and brand of ram but different build versions...G

Sometimes motherboards just don't want to work with a particular brand of ram. I had problems with some crucial and some centon working on an Asus P4P800, that worked perfectly fine on a Gigabyte 8Ik1100
