Lemme see if I can explain this... as of a week or so ago, my puter was solid as a rock. OC'd a 1.4G TBird to 1.6, (multiplier), OC'd the GF3ti200 to 220/500. Not a single squeak. Now, all of a sudden, my pc won't warm reboot. No matter if I do the whole shut down/restart from windows (xp), or if I edit the BIOS, then exit and save changes. It just sits there. The fans are all going, and the CD lights up for a sec, but that's it. As long as I shut 'er all the way down, then restart, it's fine. The only new hardware is a second NIC for a small (2 station) LAN. See my sig for hardware specs. Oh, the new NIC is a NetGear FA311, and the old one is a DLink DFE 530-TX. That's all I can think of that might be applicable. And yes, I've tried un-OC'ing everthing, as well as restoring BIOS defaults.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

P.S., while I'm at it, (no sense taking up another thread) I haven't been able to boot into Safe Mode since I installed WinXP. After numerous reinstalls, still nothing. It begins loading the safe mode drivers, then locks right after amdagp.sys is displayed. Haven't been able to ascertain if that file is the problem. Thanks again for any suggestions.

If I remember correctly, the FA311 network card had issues with the AMD 760 chipset...

And if I also remember correctly, the KG7-Raid uses the 760 chipset...

Of course, this is all from my memory, things tend to get "fragmented" in there after time....

Anyways, try taking out your nic and see if the problem happens.

Good grief... that simple... I guess if I had actually thought about it, it probably would have been obvious. Thanks anyway guys. All fixed... :)
Still need help with the second issue, though, if anyone has any ideas...

Well, in my brief experiance with XP, it seems that it can take FOREVER to boot into safe mode. Have you let it sit there for a little bit? Can you still move the mouse when it locks?

If you can move the mouse when it locks (which doesn't make much sense... I guess that wouldn't be a "lock" then :) ) then let it sit there for a couple of minutes and see if it gets out of it.

If it locks all the way, I have no clue then.

Well, it doesn't even make it to that point. You know when you're first booting into safe mode, and a bunch of text goes rolling by? (drivers loading) That's the point where it freezes. I think it may actually finish that part and then lock directly afterward. But it never makes it to the point where a cursor is displayed, so I can't really use the mouse movement as an indicator.
