Spinpoint F1 1TB:
[*]C: XP Pro, 15G
[*]D: Vista Home Premium, 30G
[*]E: Apps/data (remaining)
Spinpoint F1 750:
[*]Single partition

Additional drives
Raptor 80
Caviar 250 (PATA)

Under Vista, disk management shows all hard drives, except that the F1 750 is labeled as dynamic, so it's not accessible. No problems accessing the Raptor or Caviar.

The system was just rebuilt last week specifically for dual-boot. Before installing Vista, I tweaked my XP pagefile settings so I have 2Gs permanent on both my C: partition and on the F1 750.

Because the F1 750 is otherwise empty, I assume that the pagefile.sys from XP is what has caused the drive to be recognized as dynamic, would this be a correct assumption? And if so, can I just convert it to Basic without any problems? Or would it work to remove the pagefile on the F1 750 via XP so that Vista regards it as Basic, and then re-enable the XP pagefile?

Edit:
Not sure if my assumption was correct. To test, I killed the XP pagefile setting for the 750, converted it to Basic, and did another slow-boat format. Then I rebooted to Vista and verified the drive could be accessed. At this point I resurrected the XP pagefile on the 750 and rebooted into Vista again...but the drive is still Basic </scratch head>. Perhaps XP automatically made the disk Dynamic when I initially created the pagefile, before the Vista install. I dunno...going to try and not lose any sleep over it...
