Resolution changes with startup

Hello. I did a downgrade for a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2356 from Vista to XP. After fighting with the drivers I was able to install all drivers only to find that the resolution changed from the proper setting (can't remember the res at the moment) to 1024x768. I was able to change the res to its proper setting but everytime the computer reboots it goes back to the prior resolution. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. The driver comes up properly in the task manager with no issues and since I didn't notice it until I gave the computer back its not in front of me to work on at the moment. Any ideas? Once, when I had to fix a similar issue, I rebooted in safe mode, uninstalled & reinstalled my video drivers from there. That worked for me.
