Just received my radeon 9500 from newegg today. I can not get the refresh rate to go anything higher then 60 after going higher then 1024x768. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Oh and the mod did not take (running none modded drivers), and i have tried 2 different driver versions, the 3.1 and 3.2 cataylts.

thx
ian

See what your monitor is set as. If it isn't set as a Plug and Play monitor, or as the specific one it is, then all the resolution and refresh settings won't be offered. Changing videocards may have f'd up the monitor driver settings.

My 9500 picked up ok, but my 8500 would have this issue. I had to install the ATI control panel, go to advanced display settings, click on displays, then up the maximum resolution of the monitor.

it displays the proper monitor.. and i go into the the monitor tab and put it on the highest setting.. and says that it has changed it.. but i can tell that it hasn't and i verify that by checking in my monitor menu.....

ok this is really starting to drive me crazy... i have uninstalled the radeon and monitor drivers.. but it still does the same thing.. any ideas? i am not sure how much more of this i can take

Powerstrip is an awesome program! Overclock, enforce refresh rates, use custom resolutions, etc... it's a must have for Widescreen HDtv's!

can't stress refresh force enough. It is universal unlike some other programs where they're tailored more for nvidia cards and stuff

refresh force doesn't work.. but is it normal to have 9 monitors listed in the tab at the top? i some how don't think it is.. and everytime i try and start refresh force it says i am using a default monitor.. i also have default monitor listed in device manager along with my current monitor... any how i can't get anything to work.. removing, installing, disabling, nothing works

samsung syncmaster 753df, as soon as i put my old gts back in it displays any resolution and refresh rate i choose.... but on the radeon it will not...

go into advanced display properties, then to displays, and select the monitor and change the max resolution, it was driving me crazy but that helped me fix it 🙂
