Resolution always changes

My last computer that had an Athlon XP 1600+ with an Geforce4 Ti4200 would run fine, but occasionally would jump to a low resolution, where the stuff on the screen was so big, I would have to reboot. I thought it might have been the card.

Now I have an A64 3800+ with a 6800 Ultra, and I just encountered the same problem. I don't know what the hell the problem is. I'm runnin 61.77 Nvidia Drivers, and it seems to mostly occur when a video or something is going to load.

Any ideas, or people having this problem?

I have a similar problem. Every once in a while my screen size reverts to it's original size. By that I mean that I'll exit a game and there will be a black border around the screen so I'll have to stretch it back out again with the monitor controls. Doesn't happen enough to worry about though.

Do you have the driver for your monitor loaded (the .inf file)?
