I created a 5gig partition for C and used the rest around 180gig for D when I installed XP. Well now C needs more room. I have only installed stuff on C when it had to be there like patches and stuff. Anyway, I want to free up 5gig on D and move it to C. I ran QtParted but it only seems to let me free up space at the end of D not the beginning. How can I do this?

I don't know anything about QtParted!
I have Partition Magic. With that, you can resize D to make it 5G smaller. Then, there will be 5G unused space after D. Then, you move D by 5G towards the end of the drive. Then, there will be 5G between C and D. Then, you can resize C.

That is what I want to do. However, I was looking for a free solution though. I really thing XP should include this. I might have to just buy partition magic though. Anyone know of a free solution.

I will have to play with that program some. It looks alittle old. It says in the readme it supports ntfs, but in the simulation mode it doesn't show ntfs. Anybody every use this program or another free program?
