My Windows partition is only 2GB and I want it to be combined or resized with an empty partition I have. How do I accomplish this?

the only way is to use partition magic without having to format it

Buying software is not the only solution.

What OS are you using? You can use a free program called FIPS. FYI, it is somewhat risky to resize a partition that already has data on it.

partition magic.... acronis disk manager.... are 2 good programs i can think of on the top of my head. I used acronis and fully recommend them

Can you afford a new hard drive? How big is the other partition on your existing hard drive (or how big is the total existing hard drive)? I'd rather see you spend money on a new drive than on partition, though ideally it's nice to have a copy of PM hanging around. IF you can afford another drive, do a nice clean install of everything onto it (shouldn't take long if you only have 2 gigs of OP and APPS). Use the software that comes with the drive (MaxBlast for example for Maxtor drives) to boot with and partition it before you do anything to it.
