Resizing Existing Partitions, is it possible ?

Hi,

When I installed Windows-7 a few years ago I created a separate Partition for Windows. I originally created the Windows Partition at 80GB. That Partition has only 14GB Free Space left out of 78GB Useable space.

Is it possible to Resize that Windows Partition to 100GB's ?

The remainder of the HDD has 281GB Free out of 518GB.

I'd like to enlarge the Windows Partition from 80GB to 100GB without having to Wipe the drive.

Thanks in Advance.

Several programs can do this. Even Windows can do this. I like EaseUS Partition Manger. Very intuitive.

Windows Disk Manager will let you extend a partition if you have free space to the immediate right (adjacent) as displayed in Windows Disk Manager.

If your free space is not to the immediate right, you have to use a third party tool.

Ketchup mentioned one that will work to do that; another is Partition Wizard.

We can't see your partition setup, but most likely you'll need a third party tool.

I would recommend backing/imaging up your existing partition to an external drive before making any changes also.

"Windows Disk Manager will let you extend a partition if you have free space to the immediate right"

I use a Disk Optimization App., Slim Cleaner, so I'm guessing D-Drive is loaded right up to Windows C-Drive, so I'll give EaseUS a try as ketchup79 suggested.

Good idea but I don't have a 2nd Drive to store the back-up on.

I'll try EaseUS, I'm guessing it will work fine, If not I'll wipe the Drive and start fresh

+1 for EaseUS , i used it , and for safety purpose i made backup on external HDD. as once a starnge thing happen ,i have done all step perfectly as am not newbie . but the contents of one drive moved to another drive and 1st drive gone empty .
