Resizing a NTFS partition and distribute into a FAT32 partition

I want to resize my win2k partition (ntfs) from 8gb to 4gb or so. I'm using partitionmagic 6. So I resize win2k partition and put it into a fat32 partition. However, when it reboots and before it does the operation, it gives me an error that is something like file does not match FAT. It sounds like the unallocated space is a different cluster size or something then the FAT32 partition so it can't add it.

How do I get this to work? thanks.

Just use the convert utility:

convert /fs:ntfs x:

to convert to NTFS. And then use PM6 to modify your partition.

I thought once I convert a partition to NTFS I can't convert it back.

no partition magic 6 is now able to undo the convertion

You can't convert it back with Windows but PM6 will do it for you.
