I posted this a while ago in the CPU Forum.
They will be re-writing the MAC code to become ordinary PC's.

So will I be able to run OSX on my AMD chip? Are they going to go 64 bit? This seems like a huge story. Why didn't I see anything about it on slashdot?

Slashdot does have this: http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/06/04/0238235&tid=118&tid=3&tid=137.
That /. posting is dated 2 days ago, the OP linked article is 22 minutes ago. It is unclear whether or not they mean x86 or simply Intel manufactured CPUs of some sort.

Well, the yahoo article seems to indicate it will be x86 since they said applications will have to be adapted to run on x86 chips.
