These slipped out today.

Looking very good. Resistance is one game series that I wish I could get a PS3 to play. Reminds me of the Harry Turtledove "Worldwar" and "Colonization" series. Just with more action and pew pew pew.
 
Meh, Resistance has always looked like the "overly traditional" shooter to me. My "I wish I had a PS3" games are God of War, Uncharted, GT5, Demon's Soul, and MGS.

Well, I did say it was just one. 😛

And it is more about the alternative history setting than the gameplay for me with Resistance.

If I had a list of games to get for the PS3, Uncharted 2 is at the top. Oh, The Last Guardian too.

Kidding, I get what you're talking about. Methinks that's why I liked Fallout 3 and Bioshock so much, although that was more for an alternate history + society stuck in the 50's thing.
 
I played both of the Resistence games and was bored by them. They didn't do anything that hasn't been done before, and the enviornments were very bland.

Wow it's not just me? I bought the 2nd one and only played the first 4 levels before it sat on my shelf until last week. I sent it to Amazon for $5 credit or something.

Part 3 looks good but it looks like I'm gonna pass on it too.

The 1st one was a lot better than then 2nd, IMO.
 
I played parts of the first Resistance 1 and it was just meh... having a lot of fun with LBP and MGS4 right now though. I'll probably pick up GOW Collection and the uncharted games next.
 
Oh yah, if you haven't played singularity yet, I think it's pretty good. Borrows a lot from Bioshock, but I think that's a good thing and it adds it's own elements as well.
 
you can't beat halo when it comes to console fps.... halo just workssss.

same reason why modern warfare does well,, the instant gratification model... boom boom boom ur dead... repeat..

You don''t say....MW2 and halo aren't the same thing repacked with 4 new toys? Specially halo, thats all its been for the past 3 titles, people are just dumb enough to keep buying those games, mw2 had a bit more innovation.

I always say the same thing... but the difference is that Halo Reach has actually been fun. Resistance 2 was so dull I stopped playing 2 hours in. It's all about execution and Halo beats Resistance 2. Maybe the 3rd will be better, and maybe the 1st was better too, but all I know is the 2nd one and it was plumb fucking awful.
 
Resistance was crap, I owned a PS3 for a year and honestly played LBP with my daughter more then any other game. Halo is garbage, garbagio or whatever you want to call it. I bought halo 3 to see what all the hype was about and I was unimpressed.

Ps3 has way better exclusives but I only play madden and call of duty, plus I had $80 credit for target and got a 360 when they were only $149.99, best $70 I have ever spent

I'm torn on the PS3 exclusives... there are more overall that I like vs. the 360, but the ones I like on the 360 I like quite a bit more than anything on the ps3. Mass Effect has thus far been a phenomenal series, and I haven't found anything on the PS3 side to surpass it. The PS3 still has Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, Uncharted, and God of War 3... but Mass Effect is still better than all of them. I've also had a ton of fun playing Gears of War on co-op, which makes the game worlds more entertaining.
 
yea R2 single player was freaking amazing, that is definitely my favorite single player console FPS probably ever.

the scale of the levels, and the diversity of them, as well as some of the epic boss battles ... so awesome.

and the ending was freaking amazing as well.

any eta date on r3?
 
I LOVED resistance 1, played single player a few times, including the hardest difficulty, whatever that was. The multiplayer was awesomeeeee also. nice and simple, it was great.

I really hated resistance 2. the single player was boring and I had to force myself to finish it. the multiplayer sucked too. huge dissapointment. sold it very soon after beating the single player

There are a few games so far that are on my wish I had a PS3 list. Resistance, God of War, Demon Souls, Heavy Rain and Infamous.

GT5 for some reason just isn't grabbing me. I played GT3 alot but started getting burned out & never finished it. Gave GT4 a try over a weekend rental & just didn't really get into it.
 
I could never get into Resistance but the only thing I ever tried was the Resistance 1 demo. Maybe I should try again.

I loved R1's MP. Didn't like R2's SP or MP...
 
I found myself getting bored with Resistance 1 so I didn't play too much of it. Maybe I'll go back and try it again if I have some time in the next couple of weeks.
