Anyone else stoked for the next chapter of Resistance? I am.

Can't wait for the open beta to start soon, already have it pre-ordered and got a beta access code, so just need to wait for it to start to get the access code.
8-player co-op is looking incredible. Multiplayer sounds and looks a lot better than Resistance's multiplayer. And the campaign itself just looks insanely awesome, with a good length to it too... something you don't find much in FPS games.

It is not bad, the plot is pretty far out there and feels like Halo. I suggest against buying it since we are close to the 2nd one and the only real reason to buy it would be for the multiplayer. But, it is worth a rent. First console game that I have finished since Halo 1.

I thought the multiplayer for Resistance was a big 'meh'. I don't even like Halo but prefer Halo 3's mp to Resistance.
But I liked Resistance's plot more than any of the Halo games, because it keeps it much more simple. Mankind is being raped hardcore by an alien menace, and is fighting for survival. No space colonies, nothing bizarre like galactic war between multiple races, etc etc... it feels like a much more plausible plot, and plays less cartoony than Halo.

edit: But I would agree with the recommendation to not buy the first one, unless you want the original introduction to game's world (alternate-history 1950s - no World War II happened). But unlike some other game series where the first one is top-notch and the rest usually pale in comparison, it's basically guaranteed Resistance 2 is going to crush Resistance: Fall of Man. And in all honesty, Resistance was solid, but wasn't exceptional. Insomniac is the one company that seems to always out-do itself, with the only exception being a series as long-running as Ratchet and Clank, it's tough to make each one better than all before it, and thus just kept introducing different concepts to freshen it up instead. I have a feeling Resistance 3 will be less of a drastic overhaul from Resistance 2.

I bought the first after it became a 'greatest hit', and have to say it was pretty meh. Like others said, it felt like Halo with fancy/alien guns and damage absorbing enemies. I'll probably pick up the second, not on the day of release though.
