As thread summary says, this thread will contain spoilers. Big ones, like... game ending spoilers. So if you entered and do not want the end-game spoiled, stop reading.... now.

no spoiler tags necessary either. 😛

So... end-game.
WTF?! That shocked and upset me. Why? WHY?!!
I hope Insomniac has some good plans for Resistance 3, because I'm going to miss our buddy.

He better become Daedalus v2. As much as I'd prefer playing Hale in R3, it'd be too damn cheesy and a terrible plot if Hale somehow 'survived' and we continued on... if R3 doesn't continue from R2, I will be upset as well. A lot is left open regarding the mysterious race the Chimera were once at war with.

There is more plot elements revealed in the Co-op as well, specifically the collectible intel. I haven't played through the co-op yet, so I'm missing out on all that.

Thoughts? Reactions?

Well, I saw those but I want to keep spoilers out of a thread with so much general discussion, as sometimes you just start reading something and accidentally get the game spoiled.

With what you were saying though, did you think the game ended on a different planet?
I'm under the impression they are still on Earth, but after the nuke and crash-landing, they see another planet-like body nearing Earth... for some reason.

I think this all has to do with more than just the Chimera, but the other race. The ones that supposedly, as far as I can tell, left all that ancient tech on Earth from times far beyond human existence, and the Chimera are there to regain control before the other race can, with the Chimera hoping to just use the humans as a pawn.

Not quite sure yet if the Chimera are a whole different race, or if they completely are dependent upon humans as hosts. If the war has been waging for so long, I want to guess we haven't seen much of the real Chimera, the warlords. But they sent a virus made for humans back in the early 20th century to create pawns, likely hoping to create an entire planet of new Chimera, so that they have a vast collection of pawns to throw at the other race, to protect the Gray Tech.

I'm assuming they're still on Earth...but it looks like another planet in a way. What I said in my other post was more like how I'd feel (about the whole Harry Potter thing). I wasn't trying to hint that I thought they were somewhere other than Earth.
