So, I've had the flu for almost two weeks. A few days ago I started to get weird feelings in one of my ears. It was like as if I had a tube in there that would slide back and forth sometimes. It also popped/crinkled or something whenever I moved my jaw in certain ways(Smiling+something). Anyway, then it switched ears the next day. Then the day after that it was both.

Now I am kinda stuck with one ear being that way, but it's like I am going deaf in it sorta. I definitely don't hear fully out of it at all. Feels like something is in there, but way past the reaches of a q-tip(which I haven't been using) would get. Like it's down around a curve maybe.

What do? Hearing is important...

It sounds like fluid in your ear. I have had the very same "crinkling" sound.

I finally figured it out!
Someone forgot to give TridenT his life manual (one of the many things not found online).

If it keeps you from posting here, let's hope it continues.

Two week flu and you're too stupid to not go to the doctors?

You could also buy an ear irrigation syringe and flush out your ears of any wax buildup.

With another poster, I could try to say it was the pea brain trying to escape...but since it's Trident, it can only be built up gas looking for a way out.

I beg to disagree. You don't need need your sense of hearing since you've never used it anyway. I suspect this is a troll anyway.

Strawberry is where it's at.
Nah, I like peach. Have you tried peach crepes? It's freaking delicious. There's this food cart that runs at night on Folsom and 2nd I believe (SF) that serves the best desert crepes, [clarkson] in the world[/clarkson]. You really have to try if you ever get the chance.

For crepes, I like it simple just honey and powdered sugar.

I love Steinlagers on a week night... You can drink a 6-pack but the cans are only 11.5 ounces so it's not like you're drinking a WHOLE 6-pack...

Sweet...

If it's been going 2 weeks, it's probably not viral (i.e. not the flu). You more than likely have some sort of bacterial infection. The sound is probably fluid behind your ear drum and in the eustachian tube. You probably feel a bit of pressure in your ear, as the tube is blocked up.

The real answer is, though: go see a doctor. If it's been two weeks and it's not getting better, you may need some antibiotics.

Yeah, this is about right. Doctor said my ear looked fine except the blood vessels were a lot more visible and so there is pressure on it. She said it's normal to have that happen during the later stages of the illness. She said it'll go away with time. She offered some stuff for it if I wanted to try something(not necessary), but I just passed on that. I'll suffer some uncomfortableness and hearing loss for a bit.
