Resident evil games 1-3

i remember seeing the GC versions of these games being crazy priced at gamestop, so i checked out amazon

noticed that the psx counterparts were higher priced
is it because they are hard to get now?

also, for the GC versions, are they updated graphics for the higher powered hardware?
i did read yes to this, but is it a drastic difference?

Don't know about 2 or 3, but the first one was a world off difference in graphics between the psx and the gamecube. They also changed a couple of the puzzles or something to stop people from blowing right through the game.

i played resident evil 1 on the DS. it was cool. but i think the graphics were worse on the DS then the psx

Resident Evil for GC was one of my favorite games for that system, it was VERY well done. (My other favorite games were Eternal Darkness and the Monkey Ball series 😛)

RE1 on the GC's graphics were DRASTICALLY updated (as in, there is absolutely no comparison) from the PSX game. You can probably find a comparison picture or two if you look around. The GC verson was (in my opinion) one of the most graphically sharp games on the system.

Gameplay wise I'm not sure of the differences.

Also, RE 2 and 3 never made it to the Gamecube, although there was Resident Evil 0.

umm yes they did. ive seen them at gamestop and amazon

Oh, huh...I forgot about those (never played 'em). 2 and 3 have the same graphics, 1 was updated.

Apparantly after RE5 they expressed interest in redoing RE2. (This is according to RE2's Wikipedia page mind you)

I believe RE2 and RE3 were just ports - RE1 was redone completely.

They also made it MUCH harder. The whole burning of zombie corpses.....ugh

The RE1 remake is probably also the scariest RE out of the entire series. Try playing GC RE1 with the lights out and the surround sound up. 😉

True - that and Doom3. I used to play Doom3 with the lights out and the stereo up....man, with everything popping out of dark corners in that game, I had about 50 heart attacks.

RE1 for the Gamecube was a complete remake from the bottom up. It's my favorite RE game of all time..and definitely the scariest. 2 and 3 were direct ports with no updates at all.
