RESIDENT EVIL CG FILM???!!!!

That looks bad for a modern movie. It'd be good for a game, but CG movies have surpassed this level of quality already. Perhaps a straight to DVD release like the final fantasy advent children movie?

Yeah I was thinking that too. Granted the detail of the clothing and environment is a lot higher this is current trailer, the original Final Fantasy movie seemed to have more realistic looking people than in this trailer.

I saw this mentioned I think on Joystiq last friday or so. I haven't seen the trailer yet (letting it load now), but I liked that they got the actual voice actors from the games for Claire and Leon.

I actually would love to see game developers modify their engines and release them for people to make movies with. Yes, even with UE3.0, you're not going to be competing with Pixar or any number of high special effects movies, but I think it'd be a low great way of allowing people creative freedom without the expense of mega budget movies. I definitely think we could see someone make better movies than say Spider-Man 3 with it. I think movie studios would be open to it, as it'd allow them to make more movies at lower cost. It'd definitely benefit developers like id, Epic, Crytek, and others that spend a lot of time and money investing in making game engines.

I was hoping it was a game. RE5 will not bring the epic solitude which re4 had. Re4 was a creepfest. Re5 doesn't feel that way.

I mean, who cna forget this tune...?

Solitude? Half the game you were with people.

Okay, climb the ladder Ashley!

Oh, drop down now Ashley. I'll catch you!

RE4 wasn't creepy in the least, especially when compared with previous RE games. It was a good zombie-destroying action game, but I hope they add some scare back in RE5.

Because you played RE5 so many times already right?

you guys obviously haven't played re4.

Re4 was gold because of Shinji Mikami, you guys know who that is right? Of course not...

I haven't played re5 but from the scenes, it looks stupid as hell... I've watched all the trailers and developer interviews, the game wont' live up to the hype. I have always been able to tell if a game is bad, good or great just by watching a few clips of the game and I'm never wrong. And unless they do a 180 and make tons of night time levels, rain levels or laboratory levels, it won't be scary either, no scarier than GoW anyway.

re4 had some weird scenes but the ambiance, gritty weather and forests, old world Europe settings, castles and churches with creepy cult members, AMAZING soundtrack, revolutionary graphics not yet seen on any console game, will not be outmatched by re5. Re4 was the first and last of it's kind.

RE4 was one of Mikami's lesser works. I'm not gonna take the praise of RE4 from someone who can't appreciate the greatness of Mikami's original games.

I find it funny that you keep on going on about how bad RE5 will be when RE5 is a simply clone of RE4. Stop talking about how it won't be scary! RE4 wasn't scary! Resident Evil 4 was a zombie shoot 'em up, and RE5 will probably be too.

I am interested in the lighting technology. Hopefully that will make exploring dark places a bit creepier, unlike how you could see everything in RE4.
