Guess it made more money than we know. Probably cost maybe $20 million to make.
I dunno, some of the special effects were pretty decent and they had to have paid Milla a few million, plus there's all the advertising costs too....it just seems like it would have taken a bit more than 20mil. to make. I don't have any hard evidence to back that up, it's just my assumption.
For thise that are saying it looks good, How the hell can you tell? You saw about 2 seconds of actual film footage.
Not bashing the movie, I can't wait to see it.
It's Resident Evil...you only need to know that a sequel exists and that alone is proof of it's goodness. It's like Godzilla you see (the REAL Godzilla, not the Hollywood version). There is no need to watch extended trailers and read up on it, so long as they keep spitting out movies then you're guaranteed to be entertained. So when the rare "new" Godzilla movies make their way over to the states you don't have to sit and ponder if the movie will be any good. Instead, you find out what you have to do to watch the movie and make sure your butt is there.
So, in closing, just as a new Gozilla movie is to be required viewing because of the already established "coolness" factor, so then is a new Resident Evil movie (maybe even moreso because of Milla). The logic is quite simple really
