Resident Evil - a movie worth seeing?

Basically, I think the trailer for Resident Evil looks kinda cool, but the reviewers hated the movie.

So, for those who have seen it - I don't expect any revelations from the movie, but is it good/entertaining?
Thanks.

It was doomed ever since they canned George Romero's original script. Stupid h'wood suits need to get their heads outta their asses and stop making crap. They can't fool the public into seeing unfiltered sh!te forever...

i thought it was pretty cool, take it for what it is, its a movie based of a video game so dont go in suspecting you'll see a usual suspects caliber movie. I thought it was fun to watch milla is hot and zombie dogs are scary.

If the script they canned was the one I read, it was pathetic. It was like he just scripted the first game out, down to some of the goofy plant monsters you fought.

The version they made was pretty damn good. The ending was spectacular, too - very John Carpentery. 😉

It was like Jurassic Park 3 was last year - quick, dumb and fun... Don't spend seven dollars to see it - hit the early show...

I am still deciding whether I will go see it tmw night... I guess I'll pass and wait for DVD instead...

People really expect too much out of movies. Movies like Resident Evil are not intended to be cinematic masterpices. They are intended to be loud, raw (violence, gore, sex, etc), and entertaining - nothing more.

While I doubt it will win any awards, it is entertaining.

Worth seeing IMHO.

well, depends what type of expectations you have towards seeing it

i knew it was gonna be cheesy and lots of gore and violence, so that was okay

they tried to incorporate a lot of aspects from the game ( is a bad thing? ) but i think they did a good job, like the way they rationalize why zombies eat living people

but c'mon, its a video game->movie, how much can you expect? ( anyone remember Street Fighter? Mario Brothers? :disgust: )

all in all i liked it, a good video game->movie 🙂

The movie was way better than TOMB RAIDER. There is this aspect of made-for-TV in both movies, though. I'm not complaining about the lack of cussing or nudity, but it doesn't deserve a Rated R.

I thought it did pretty well considering what it was... being a prequel to the first game. It kept in the same line, so pretty much it was like watching a friend play the game... complete with the bad acting by a computer🙂
