Quake 4 is scary? Dude, I think another reason why I'm getting freaked out is because all my lights are off... and it's dark as hell. Plus, the speakers are on pretty loud. I scared myself when I went to the restroom. Somebody hold me.

Yeah, it plays a lot more like Metal Gear than past Resident Evils.
RE4 isn't really scary at all, its just very tense. A big part of what made the other games scary is that the controls were so bad and you had limited ammo and saves, so every hallway became more threatening. You never quite knew when or where the next attack might come from (throw in the crimson heads from the REmake and it goes up even more). In RE4 you are almost always aware of what is going to happen. Plus in the earlier ones they did a lot more things that were creepy.
What really surprised me about it though was how long the game is. I honestly was expecting it to be over after about the first third of it.
I kinda wish there was more scariness to it, but its a great game. I hope they can find a good balance now. Give it more of an RE feel but try to keep the action intense and crazy (the part where you're in the house and the villagers come is crazy).
I thought that most people knew that was going to happen? I think everything I had read talked about it was your mission to infiltrate them and become one so as to better fight them or something.
I'm not calling you stupid or anything, I just thought most people knew that.

Nope, have you actually played the game? I've never read any reviews, so I don't know what they say.

The becomming a strogg thing caught me by surprise. I was on a mission to kill the stroggs to shut down a powerplant, and then this big boss comes that's undefeatable will capture you and then take you to the strogg medical facility to turn you into a strogg, and then right before they assimilate your brain, your crew comes in and saves you.
Nope I haven't played it (doesn't really interest me to be honest). That would make sense. I figured you must have not read much on it before playing (sometimes a good thing, sometimes not, in this case I would say its a good thing). I had read some previews (was debating on getting it when I get a 360 and so wanted to see if it'd catch my interest), and they made it sound like that was the plot of the game, that you were intentionally going to become assimilated into one of the enemy so that you could fight from within.
