Resident Evil 4, Code: Veronica HD coming to PSN and XBLA

Capcom just put out a press release announcing that HD remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X are coming to PSN and XBLA sometime this fall.

They re-relased Code Veronica on PS2 and Gamecube and then they re-released RE4 for and Wii. They're probably doing this for some quick cash until their next Resident Evil because seriously, how many re-releases do we need? They're both good games but come on.

I can understand them release this again because it was originally a Dreamcast game. And it isn't that bad of a RE title. The rail shooter you get when you beat it is pretty fun as well. They are updating it significantly I'm sure. I didn't hear many complaints about Super Street Fighter Turbo HD Remix and that was rereleased on Xbox and PS2. And I'm sure Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike isn't getting bitched about either.


If you don't like that a game is rereleased, don't buy it... Simple as that. A lot of people, especially younger gamers, never got to experience a lot of older games. Let the companies make some money and let the kids enjoy the games.

Not everyone has already played RE4 and RECV, me for example.

Good games should be remade for the newer platforms -- I'd pay good money for HD remakes of the better PS2 JRPGs like XenoSaga 1-3 and Persona 3-4.

I've never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus so I'll be buying the PS3 version. I'll probably also be buying the HD remake of Beyond Good & Evil.

However, I would like a re-release of the GameCube remake of RE1, in HD. Remakes of RE2 a RE3 are welcomed as well, in HD of course.

The series became all weird after 3. Code Veronica had that crazy villian who dressed up as his sister. And, the entire game felt like work and less like a game. RE4 was good - however, it was the 1st step towards RE5. And, RE5 is horrid.

RE4 was freaking fantastic, I bought it on release day for the GC. I'll definitely pick it up for the 360, I'd love to play through it again, much better than RE5 was.

I never played Code Veronica X but I'll probably give it a whirl.

it would be wonderful for a modern remake of all the games up to RE 5 using the RE 5 engine of course. RE 2 was lots a fun but the graphics look hideous after playing the RE 1 remake on Gamecube.

RE2 for GC wasn't a remake, it was just a re-release.

I never said RE 2 was a remake. I said it looked hideous because I played RE 1 remake first. the whole time I was playing RE 2, I was wishing it was a remake.
