Resetting CMOS battery doesn't reset BIOS (Intel DH55PJ)

I disconnected the power and removed the CMOS battery for 6 hours and all of my settings are still there, the only thing that reset was the date / time. There is no reset jumper or button on the motherboard (Intel DH55PJ).

Is it normal for BIOS settings to stay after removing the CMOS battery?

You can select default in the BIOS. Else you can switch a jumper to default the BIOS too if I remember correctly.

Did you unplug the PSU? Else it still gets power from the PSU with the 5V standby.

Uplug power cord, press power button to drain the caps in the power supply. Then remove battery and short the terminals together for a bit. Reinstall and it should be reset. If not then you will need to locate the jumper.

I unplugged the power cable, removed the CMOS battery, pressed the power button a couple of times, and left it like that for 11 hours.

Again the only thing that reset was the date & time. I figured out that I can reset to default settings by pressing F9, but this is confusing me. Shouldn't removing the CMOS battery reset everything?
