Apparent hardware problems had this box sitting cold for a month.
Now I'm trying to get it up again.

The problem is that it resets while trying to load windows in safe mode
(I'm using basic bios settings)

RAM? CPU? or is it just software now?
I could try doing a "repair" on my Win XP installation.

Thanks much,

Leadtek K7NCR18D-PRO (NForce II) with an Athlon XP 2100
ATI All-in-wonder 9000 Pro
Ram is ocsystem pc2100 (but i never got it running stable at full speed)
Power Supply a Fortron FSP300-60ATV
Western Digital 120gig hd

If its rebooting during Safe mode startup, then its either software or a hardware problem. The software problem is really the easiet for you to diagnose because all you gotta do is reinstall XP. If its still rebooting, then unless you got some extra Known-Good-Hardware laying around, Id take it into your local computer shop and have them tell you what part has gone bad for a minimal fee.

However, if you do have spare hardware, and its rebooting after a Fresh install of XP, then go for the whole systematically-replace-parts-until-it-works-method.
