Reseting Driver Config

Hello,
I'd like to reset all the drivers and reinstall them (having some problems with sound drivers). This is for Windows XP, I've done it before but can't for the life of me remember how. Pretty sure it was something in the registry I deleted. Formating is not really an option, but if all else fails... gotta do what you gotta do, this is Windows after all.
