I want to point out from the start that the reset button works perfectly and does what it's supposed to do, which makes this mostly a cosmetic problem. I'm not sure when this started, but I've noted in the last month that the reset light will flash intermittently, sometimes for hours. It's actually flickering as I write this, and will often do this for hours. Then it will stop for a while and start up again.

Thinking is was a problem with the connection to the board, I went to reverse the orientation and found that it does this when the reset connector is off the board. As I said, it doesn't affect the operation of the computer.

The case is an Enlight 7237, with Athlon 1333 at 1506, 256 meg crucial pc2100 DDR on an Abit KR7a board running W98. Maxtor 7200 31G HD, and 350 watt Enermax PS.

I'd be grateful for any ideas.

Thats not the reset light that is the hard drive light, it flashes like that when your hd is reading/writing, the speed it is flashing is determined by how much is being done.
