Reset Bios on Toshiba Notebook

Cuda1447

There is a boot password on this Toshiba G25AV513 notebook computer. I cannot load the BIOS or CD-Rom/USB etc. to use software to reset the bios. There is no bios batter inside the laptop, we have taken it apart completely. Does anyone know of any other way to reset the BIOS on one of these things?

Call Toshiba and see if they have a backdoor password.

Googlen says the normal password is: Toshiba (case sensitive) or you can just hold down left shift while booting to bypass it.

Hi, If you took it apart then look for the BIOS battery. Remove it with all power off, wait about 2 hrs for the circuit caps to bleed down then put the batt back in. Your BIOS setup should be reset to defaults. If that's the password you need to get rid of it should be long gone. Luck, Jim
