Reservoir question: advantage of discreet vs. built into rad?

In the interests of saving space and going for an overall cleaner look, is it better to go with say, an MCR220 w/ a built in reservoir, or is there some big performance trade off? Is going with a separate, discreet reservoir like the micro res's better?

I found out that Petra's Tech is right up the road from me, so I'm going to order a few things and pick them up Thursday. I'll be ordering the d-tek fuzion cpu block w/ accelerators, two MCP 655 pumps, and another Swiftech MCR220, as I've already got one with a built in reservoir.

So, built in res. or no?

Also, I've decided to go with a core-only GPU block since apparently some of them come with ramsinks. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

The built in reservoirs do not work if laid on there side. And they don't flow as well as say the micro-res, which is close to being the best flowing on the market.

Well as you probably know the plan is to have them sitting sideways on edge in the bottom compartment of the TJ07. How drastic is the flow difference, in general?

I didn't start this project in a very organized way, obviously. I bought the MCR220 w/ built-in res on your advice when I was still planning on using the Stacker 810. Should I return it and just run regular MCR220s and independent reservoirs, or is it not worth the hassle of returning?

They do not function any other way than vertical so, you'll have to return it. It simply will not function at best on it's side, and at worst I don't know how well sealed that top port is, it may just leak like a siv.
