Reservoir Dogs

A neighbor ordered it off Ebay, I can't find any US release info on it at all. It follows the story of the movie, but fills in what you don't see in the flick with fairly decent 3rd person shooting & driving missions. The graphics are nice, not "wow!" level, but it has a clean look and the levels are pretty well designed. It has all the music from the movie, and all the characters, although the game models look nothing like the actors in the movie, maybe it's due to a liscense issue?

You get the choice of how you want to play the levels out, you can go in guns blazing and kill everyone. Which will earn you a psycho rating, or you can take hostages, try to get cops to put their guns down and finish the level with as little bloodshed as possible. Either way actually works, unlike a Hitman or Thief where you'll have a hard pressed time trying to play the levels rambo style. It's cool how you can pistol whip the hostages, smash their heads in the walls, or shoot them in the head. A hostages health will slowly deminish, even if you're not hurting them. Not very realistic, but it prevents you from taking one person hostage and keeping them hostage threw the entire level. All the characters from the movie are playable, but aside from their finisher moves, nothing really sets them apart though.

Level design is varried, driving parts are pretty interesting, I played 12 levels there and didn't get bored. I encountered zero puzzles, overall the game is pretty straight forward. The weapon selection is pretty standard, I do like the Tranqulizer gun, the cops let out a nice "uuugh" as they crumple over.

The voilence level is moderate, there's blood and such, but no limbs flying. The game does however stay true to the movie and has a sh!tload of cursing. The 'F' word comes up in the game about every other line durring the cut scenes. I hope there is a US release planned, as $50+ plus shipping off Ebay is too much for me to pay.

Wow, I didn't read every word you wrote because it is too hard with no spacing like that, but I would be all over a Reservoir Dogs game as it is one of my favourite movies ever.

You are right though, $50+ (probably $60+ for a poor Canadian soul like me) is waayy too much.

I didn't think it was very good. You can't even skip past the cutscenes so if you mess up and have to reload, it's awful. I thought it got pretty dull (playing it pro style) after a while. Rambo style would probably be more fun.

Hmmm, too bad. Though pretty much par for the course for movie games unfortunately.

was just at my neighbors, thought the same thing about the cut scene, but it appears if you press enter before the text disappears it will skip the cut scene.
