i work at a small company with a tax id that builds computers and sells them to customers. we primarily get our hardware from standard online retailers. now that volume is going up soon, i was wondering how much cheaper items are through ingram micro compared to newegg.com for example. before sending off $100 for the application i want to make sure it should bhe worth it.

Ingram sux for resellers. Unless you are a big company w/ bulk buying power, forget it.

ASI Corp. usually has good prices. D & H not always so low, but sometimes they are good. Tech Data is high. Ingram micro is high also, but they have the most products.

Don't they buy like a box of 100 or 500 directly from the manufacturer?

After you get the computer reseller's permit, you'll get calls from your local computer distributors and wholesalers.
They can know you just registered from your local business bureau, find your telephone number from yellow pages, buy your info from agency.

Wait for them to call you, you can get some deals. They need to get business from you.
If you call them first, they know you have to buy from them.
