Rescuing a broken music CD.

OK, I have one David Byrne - Rei Momo CD with a nasty scratch going halfway up the radius of the CD. Only my computer CD player can play the tracks affected (1-4) and so I am going to burn a another CD. Since I can't extract the first four tracks without major skips, what quality MP3 should I get to convert into WAV.? And are there any special encoders (into WAV. not MP3) I should be aware about?

Just get the best you can. I personally can't tolerate anything below 160kbps, but you should be looking for at least 192kbps. And make sure you proof-hear it.
