Rescuers reach snow cave on Mt Hood

My precious tax dollars hard at work trying to save these idiots. If these fools are found alive I hope the Govt. puts them on a monthly payment plan for this stunt!

Ok, I saw the whole thing about them finding a cave, but what happened? A climbing expedition go missing or something?

3 Climbers are over a week overdue from their attempted climb of Mt Hood. Researchers have had a rough time with the storms, today visibility is much better allowing them to lower searchers using helicopters.

so wait is the question where are the people, or why would the people leave the cave and leave their picks behind therefor they must have been abducted/saved by aliens?

You know this dope says this while his precious corporations are on the government teet.

It's not so over-the-top asking people who intentionally put themselves in harms way knowing that others will bail them out at the public's expense to have to pay for their foolishness.

I believe there is some sort of legislation pending or policy change being discussed that deals with this issue.

Did you notice that every time the blonde wife's been on the news, she gets more and more stoned? They have her drugged up. She laughs and stumbles around and doesn't really seem to understand what's going on the last day or two.

🙁 Yeah, they found a body. They did know this was a distinct possibility with this sport and chose to not take emergency beacons with them (you can rent them for five bucks a day for chrissake), but it's still sad that at least one of them is dead. At those temperatures and with the weather we've had (hurricane-force winds and snow), I don't think they'll find any of them alive this late in the game.

what the climbers did in the first place was a dumb idea. it was suicidal for them to go climbing mt. hood in the middle of december, but they did it anyway. just another example of people trying to be macho and thinking there invincible. this would almost be as stupid as trying to swim a couple miles in the ocean during a hurricane

I don't think the beacons would have done much good, at least for this climber, today was the first day they actually made it to the summit. A beacon definately would have led them to the other 2 right now though.

I think one of the climbers was using it as preparation for Everest. Mt Hood is climbed so often that it probably doesn't appear like much of a challenge.

In other news,
Coast Guard helicopters were scouring the stormy seas off the Oregon coast in search of a missing three-member crew of a large catamaran that left San Francisco a week ago and was found Friday upside down in heavy surf about 80 miles southwest of portland.

I have to agree w/ Fmr12B there. These idiots tried to climb a mountain in the middle of the god damn winter...If any of them live, they need to repay all the money that was pissed away searching for their sorry asses.

Say that until you know someone who gets lost while trying to take the scenic route with their family or takes an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. They were experienced and could've been expected to handle the conditions, but the worst happened. Your tax dollars are wasted on much worse than this.

It's so easy to say "screw them" when it is an anonymous stranger. This could happen to anyone who isn't a hermit.
