Required/Recommended/MAX ?

On most pc games there are PC requirements listed as "Required/Recommended"

Would'nt it be nice to have a MAX listing? You know, where a game will no longer play any better on the system listed as MAX. At least it would give us a better idea on what we'd need to play the game maxed out and could go no further.

I suppose today it would be tougher with all the higher requirements for games, but a year or so ago, it would've been decent.

i don't see how they would keep the MAX requirements up-to-date with all the changes in hardware. interesting concept though.

That's not really pratical, because there when a new game comes out, there usually isn't a system that can play it on max. For example, I don't think there's a system out there that could play Quake4 at 2048x1536 6xAA 16xAF. And, for all intents and purposes, the faster the system, the faster it'll play the game.
