Requesting temperatures/settings for Core i7 920 @ 3.6 GHz

I have an Asus P6T Deluxe V2, Core i7 920 (@ 3.6 GHz), Noctua U12P SE1366 w/Scythe SFF21G and 12GB of Corsair Dominator C8. My settings are CPU Ratio = 18, BCLK = 200, CPU Voltage = 1.25, QPI/DRAM Voltage = 1.23, HT = Enabled and Speedstep = Disabled. Running LinX on 100 passes, load temperature is 80C, idle is around 34C. Ambient room temperature is 80F.

Can anyone with a similar overclock (3.2 to 3.8) please report back with your temperatures? Also state the HSF you use and related voltages. Installing the CPU heatsink I used the thin line method of NT-H1 compound. Even although I think re-seating the CPU heatsink again will help, I've re-seated it seven times and get similar temperatures every time.

Thanks.

Those temps seem about average under those conditions. Sorry if im no help here but from what I've heard those are about right...

The forums are full of that info. Just do a search.

80F... that's quite an ambient room temperature.

Anyway, while I don't have an experience with i7 directly, aren't those numbers a bit high under load? My AMD only hits about 60C under hours of prime95 on a stock cooler. Do i7s run hotter than the Athlons?

I think they are high, especially when I read of people reaching 3.8 GHz with 10 degrees cooler. I'd like to try and reduce the temperatures but unsure what I should start with.

With a room temp of 80f - I don't think you will do much better on air ...

Besides, what do you use your computer for - chances are - your average temps will be a lot lower than when you are running LinX ..

prime 95 will run about 10 degrees cooler than linx. I have my i7 at 3.8 with a xigmatek red scorpion and it runs close to 80 with linx.
