Unfortunately, my parents recently had their new HDTV stolen from their home as a result from burglary. I am seeking the best possible way to report this for insurance purposes.

The TV was purchased from another household through some classified ads. There were no formal receipts involved or anything. So what is the best way in this situation to go about providing proof for the insurance company?

Can you go back to the seller for a receipt?

Otherwise, you need pics of said TV in their home.
