Bullshit. Yes there was that H review, but even that wasn't that bad, just ratings at temperature. Do you hear about them failing left and right? I don't think so.

Not to mention they are way more quiet than most other power supplies.

Well, if you take the sheer volume of refurbished units available for sale across a wide number of retailers/resellers as any indication of failure rate, then OCZ has had some trouble.

The Game/Stealth/ModXStream units have been everywhere as refurbs lately. Off hand, they've been or are in stock at mwave, Newegg, SVC, Performance PCs, Frozen CPU, ZZF, Directron, ewiz, MicroCenter, and Fry's to name a few, and in wattages spanning 600W-1,000W.

You could take the sheer volume of sales to justify that as well. FFS look Antec referbished. I still call bullshit.

Goody for you.

Still doesn't change anything that refurbished OCZ power supplies have swamped the internet reseller chain and that OCZ power supplies are typically not built as well as better brands, like Seasonic, Corsair, Enhance, etc.

I'd take a risk on a FSP '700 watt' from OCZ for as cheap as they've been for a low end or midrange box. Refurbs could be caused by anything starting with selling NIB products as 'refurb' to avoid sabotaging sales of higher units to people actually requiring 700 watts and blowing them up.

This is a solid 500 watt Fortron PSU being sold as a 700 watt in hopes the end customer doesn't actually require anywhere near that much output. I can live with that -- don't expect it to power a 4 ghz i7 with two GTX295s and it shouldn't disappoint.

They've been pushing a lot o product. If they had a failure rate of more than a few percent we would hear about it. Like the antec near 10% of the mid decade.

Edit: By that logic. Take every product that newegg has an open box and boycott. You can find refurbished products from any makers Ohhh Seasonic referb, shudder.
